Are you thinking about graduate or professional school? If so, the Graduate Education Resource Fair is a great place to start!
Take this opportunity to learn about the outstanding graduate programs offered at Miami. Program directors, faculty and current students will be available to discuss their programs and provide insight into graduate education.
Following a welcome from the Dean of the Graduate School, participants can sit in on workshops ranging in topics from selecting the right program to navigating the application process. We will also share insights from current graduate students and faculty who have expertise in reviewing competitive applications.

Session Descriptions
What is Graduate School and is it for me?Presenter: Valerie Carmichael, Ph.D., Director of Graduate Admission
This session will define graduate school, discuss the degree options, share where to start, how to start, and what is expected of you. It will also include a timeline to apply, discuss how to find the right program, and the benefits of research experience. This presentation will include guidance for the first year student - who is just getting started, to the senior - who is preparing to graduate.
How to Pay for Graduate School
Presenter: Michael Crowder, Ph.D., Dean of the Graduate School
In this session we will share a variety of options for students to pay for their graduate education, including graduate assistantships, external fellowships, student loans, and how to search for funding.
So, what is this Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program option?
Presenter: Elise Radina, Ph.D., Associate Dean of the Graduate School
Have you considered earning your Master’s degree while you complete your undergraduate degree? Miami offers several Master’s degrees that can be earned while earning your undergraduate degree. High achieving students who enroll in this option are allowed to count courses toward both degrees and potentially graduate with both sooner than their peers. This session will share information about this option and answer your questions, such as how and when to apply, and the cost.
Demystifying the Graduate School Application Process

I am ready to apply, now what? This session will walk through the tactical steps of the graduate application process. You will gain insights into the typical application requirements, the timeline to apply and accept your offer, and what is expected of you as an applicant. We will share tips for those applying now and for those who are considering the application process.
Faculty Panel: Insights into Competitive Graduate Admission
A special Workshop for Honors College Students
Moderator: Carolyn Haynes, Ph.D., Senior Associate Provost, Honors College Faculty in Residence
What can I do now to position myself as a competitive candidate for top graduate and professional schools? A panel of faculty and program directors will share their expertise on what you can do now to be a competitive applicant and to identify a good program fit. They will discuss the admission process and how you can improve your chances of being admitted. This workshop will be most useful to current sophomores and juniors in the Honors College, though all are welcome.

This is an opportunity to learn from those who have successfully navigated the graduate enrollment process. This diverse panel of current graduate students will answer your questions and share what they wish they knew. Bring your questions and see how prepared you are to enroll in graduate school.
